The Most Alliterative Local Name For Obama in All America
It never occurred to me until the moment I saw it, but once I did, everything clicked into place. I was driving out to the west of Des Moines the other day when I was passed on the highway by a car with a bumper sticker featuring this simple message: Omaha for Obama
I know it sounds kind of crass, but if I were a community leader in Omaha, I would be hoping for Barack Obama to win the 2008 presidential election, if only for all the extra business opportunities for political tourism and other ventures sure to come the way of Omaha just because Omaha’s name is sure to come up more often once clever wordsmiths start to realize the fun of playing with the similarity of the Omaha - Obama names.
All that, and I think Omaha is just enough of a cool midwestern city to vote for Obama anyway.
