The apologists for British Petroleum and Transocean say that, with a little bit of luck, the Deepwater Horizon oil spill might be capped with just 200,000 barrels of crude oil leaked into the Gulf of Mexico. What kind of crazy standard for success is that – to have only 200,000 barrels of oil washing up on some of our nation’s most beautiful beaches?
We’ve heard too many excuses from the Drill Baby Drill crowd, pushing offshore drilling on us as if it’s just some kind of game to try to keep America’s coasts clean. Our natural treasures shouldn’t be sold out so easily.
