On May 27, Republican candidate for Governor of Maine Paul LePage was asked a simple question: “Do you believe in creationism, and do you think it should be taught in Maine public schools?” Paul LePage’s answer:
I would say intelligence, uh, the more education you have the more knowledge you have the better person you are and I believe yes and yes.
Yes: Paul LePage believes in creationism. This may be odd, given the strong empirical evidence for evolution, but as an individual LePage has the right to believe in whatever religious ideas he wants.
Yes: Paul LePage wants creationism to be taught in public schools. This is where LePage crosses the line into using his political position for pushy religious proselytization. It’s just the sort of pushy, nosy, intrusive behavior that a place like Maine is supposed to stand against. Will we be able to say that in the future?
Creationism is for Sunday school. Science is for public school. Say No to Creationism in Public Schools. Say No to Paul LePage.

Those of you who think Creationism is not a science but a religion should research their comments. Evolution is a religion as much as creationism is. Darwin never had the brain power to come up with this theory if it weren’t for Sir Charles Lyell who invented the false “evolution theory” This garbage has been taught to kids for years and should be outlawed because there is more evidence to prove evolution a hoax than ever! Evolutionist date fossils from the rocks and they also date rocks from the fossils found in them. So what is it …the rocks or the fossils??? Where is the record in that?! This site will probably delete this because they know I am right and I can prove it! Taking God out of school is un American. This United States were made to free man and to give us inalienable rights under…guess who…GOD!!!!!!!!!
Go ahead, Bobby. Prove what you’re claiming. We’re waiting.
Hey, Bobby. We’re still waiting here.
I love it when the fundies compare millions of man hours of research and testing across dozens of scientific fields to 2 contradictory versions of a Jewish creation myth from 5000 years ago as equal. Somehow forgetting the other several hundred creation myths that have just as much “evidence” as the Biblical versions do.
Bobby, if you go read maybe 10% of the websites on this page http://pandasthumb.org/links.html you would be able to understand that there is no circular logic in dating.
or check out http://talkorigins.org/
However, I assume like most fundies/wingnuts/teabagger I have encountered you will simply come here, yell once, maybe come back to insult the blog owner or me and then leave, but still never offer any sort of coherent argument or evidence.
Bobby, thanks for the laugh …. any chance that you might provide some evidence for your “statements”?
Let’s do an experiment, please list in any order your top 5 “proofs” that the theory of evolution is incorrect. along with evidence supporting each one and, of course, references for your evidence. I would be happy to discuss them with you.
… and Bobby goes as silent as the departing dusk.
