Mitt Romney has gone from bad to worse. He was bad enough as a failed presidential candidate in 2008, but now in 2012, Romney has decided that the road to success is paved with trampled workers.
Mitt Romney declared this week that “I like being able to fire people.” That’s no surprise to those people who are aware of Romney’s history as an executive with Bain Capital, where he made money for himself and his partners by purchasing successful companies and then breaking those companies apart, destroying huge numbers of jobs in the process.
To make himself popular with the GOP voting base, Mitt Romney has embraced every lunatic fringe idea from the extreme right. He’s against marriage equality, rejects using science as the basis of public policy, wants to start new wars that will drain our nation of blood and dollars, and is eager to make Americans vulnerable to toxic substances by eliminating environmental protections.
