The congressional Super Committee made sure that special perks for Wall Street fat cats are protected, but older Americans who have contributed to the system for decades are now going to have Medicare services denied to them. Talk back loud and clear with this bumper sticker, which declares, - Hands Off My Medicare!

The Super Committee in Congress turned out to be a royal setup, allowing the Republicans and regressives among the congressional Democrats to force huge cuts to Medicare without any counterbalancing sacrifice from corporations or America’s billionaires. Why this happened is no mystery – the rich have plenty of money to pay for lobbyists to go and speak for them on Capitol Hill – cash in hand.

We, the working people of America, can speak out on the streets – literally, in the case of bumper stickers.

It’s a tragic failure of our society when special perks for Wall Street fat cats are protected, but older Americans who have contributed to the system for decades are now going to have Medicare services denied to them.

This bumper sticker allows you to talk back to those people in power who think that they can take us for granted, as if we’re “the little people”. It’s a big bumper sticker, 12 by 4 inches, so no one will be able to mistake the message: Hands Off My Medicare!

It’s amazing from a state where people have taken so much abuse and interference from Newt Gingrich, but just one month before the start of 2012, there still is no formal organization in Arkansas to combat the Gingrich’s presidential campaign.

We can’t afford to wait around for the central political powers in Arkansas to start to organize a response to Gingrich 2012. You know how slow they can be.

Take this responsibility upon yourself. Be the first voice for Arkansas Against Gingrich 2012 with this campaign bumper sticker, designed especially for rational razorbacks. Gringrich’s policies of promoting the financial elites on the backs of working Americans can’t be sustained in Arkansas.

Newt Gingrich wants to continue the economic policies that have ruined Indiana communities, while asking teenagers to bear the burden created by corporate greed. No wonder Indiana is saying no to Newt Gingrich in 2012.

Indiana is not one of those states you could call lazy. It’s a manufacturing hub, a vital transportation corridor, and a source of agricultural bounty. When there’s a need, the people of Indiana come together and put in some sweat to get the job done.

Hoosiers don’t expect to get rich from their labor. They just want a basic, good life as a reward for their work. Yet, more and more, a hard day’s work is not being rewarded with a fair day’s pay.

The corporate executives of the manufacturing plants that used to dominate Indiana have stripped the state clean of jobs, shipping them overseas to foreign sweatshops in search of a quick boost to profits. The result is that the top one percent is making more money than ever, while the bottom 99 percent is struggling just to avoid financial disaster.

In the midst of this economic difficulty, Newt Gingrich comes along and tells Indiana that its teenagers should have to work extra evening shifts in the public schools as janitors in order to keep their schools up and running. Gingrich wants working families to be the ones making more of a sacrifice, when the top 1 percent has more than enough to keep the system running.

Using Indiana’s kids to help balance the accounts of corporations that have outsourced jobs away is a step too far. Indiana voters won’t stand for it, and that’s why, in the 2012 presidential contest, Indiana is against Newt Gingrich.

Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein isn't just conveniently adopting the language of these protests. She's been in the fight for a long time.

Green Party presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein began to explain her political career to students at Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts by citing the ongoing political debate about the way that health care is administered in the United States. She said,

“I myself became active as a physician, working in health care for many years, for 25 years really, trying to give people the care that they need in a very broken system that just keeps getting more broken… What I learned as a physician in health care is that there is so much we can do but that it’s hard to get politicians to listen to the solutions that are actually right there within our reach that could bring down the cost of health care, that could make it possible for all of us to have affordable and comprehensive health care insurance.”

The goal of fair access expands from health care to the total economy for Jill Stein. It’s been noted that she is the only presidential candidate to have visited any of the protests taking place across America as part of the occupation movement. Stein is taking stands that align her with the 99 percent, against corporate elites, just as Occupy Wall Street and its followers have done.

Stein isn’t just conveniently adopting the language of these protests, though. She’s been in the fight for a long time. Eleven months before Occupy Wall Street began, Stein said in a speech before students worrying about how they could begin their careers in a time of economic crisis, “The 400 wealthiest families across America quadrupled their wealth – four times over – in the past decade, whereas most people are struggling to just make ends meet, and to keep from going off the cliff.”

Jill Stein isn’t just posing as a member of the 99 percent. She’s the real deal. Stein can be a genuine President of the people. Support her campaign with this Stein for President bumper sticker.

Mitt Romney is spreading dishonest assertions about Social Security. Maryland voters are responding by defending Social Security, and opposing Mitt Romney's 2012 presidential campaign.

At a presidential debate, Mitt Romney said that taxes would have to be increased to 44 percent to pay for Social Security. The truth is, that’s a lie. All that would have to be done to make Social Security insolvent for the next 75 years would be to increase the payroll tax by 2.1 percent! That’s according to the official actuary of the Social Security Administration, not some campaign hack.

Mitt Romney refuses to be honest about Social Security. The working families of Maryland depend upon Social Security – and they’ve been paying into the system for years. They know that Social Security isn’t an entitlement. It’s something they’ve already paid for, and earned.

Mitt Romney needs to be stopped from destroying Social Security. That’s why, in Maryland, voters are showing their opposition to the Romney 2012 campaign with this bumper sticker: Maryland Against Romney!

The political story of Republican New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is encapsulated in the fact that members of the “donor class” of the Republican Party are asking him to run for President in 2012. Just what is this donor class? It’s people with lots and lots of money – corporate executives and trust fund kids.

Barack Obama has lost my trust and my vote in 2012 because of his support for tax cuts for billionaires.

Over the last decade, the gap between rich and poor has grown tremendously in the United States. Politicians in Washington D.C. don’t seem to mind that much, though, given that they’re almost all on the wealthy side of the divide – and their campaigns are funded almost exclusively by rich donors as well. It’s a tidy relationship for them, and a raw deal for the rest of us.

Barack Obama promised to represent those who had been shut out of government during the long years of George W. Bush, but now, he’s proving to us progressives that he’ll represent the same financial elites that kept Bush in place. Barack Obama has reached a deal to work with Republican leaders to pass tax cuts for billionaires and wealthy investors – cuts that working Americans are going to end up paying for, with interest.

Now Obama expects me to turn around and donate to his re-election campaign? I don’t think so. With tax cuts for billionaires, Barack Obama lost my vote in the 2012 presidential election.

Obama hasn’t just lost my vote. He’s losing the trust and respect of progressives across the U.S.A. Senator Bernard Sanders, long a political ally of Obama, describes the situation as follows: “The President is a friend of mine. But his credibility has been severely damaged. If he is going to go forward, and if he is the Democratic nominee, I suspect he will say: Yes, I extended it for 2 years against my will; but, don’t worry, I am going to repeal them after 2 years. Tell me, who will believe him? His credibility has been severely damaged. We are caving in on this issue and we should not be.”

When was the last time a member of the U.S. Senate took to the floor to deliver a speech studded with the word “usury” 9 times? Never, not until yesterday. Bernie Sanders gave an impassioned 8 1/2 hour speech (read every word of it here) on the practical and moral bankruptcy of throwing tax cuts at billionaires when millions of poor Americans are struggling and the nation is mired in debt.

In that speech, Senator Sanders was not afraid to call loan sharking a moral crisis:

This is an issue I have been working on for years and years, and this is the issue of usury. I mentioned earlier, if you read the religious tenents of the major religions throughout history, whether it is Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and others, what you find is almost universal objection and disgust and a feeling of immorality in terms of usury. When we talked about usury in the United States, what we usually talked about were thugs, gangsters working on street corners who lent out money at outrageously high interest rates to workers, and when that money was not repaid back at the interest rates asked for, the thugs would beat up the workers.

In fact, I am thinking now about the first movie of Rocky. I don’t know if the Presiding Officer saw the first movie of Rocky with Sylvester Stallone, but before he became a successful fighter and the heavyweight champion of the world, that is what he was: a big tough guy who beat up people who did not pay back the gangsters the high interest rates they were asking for.

Well, the world has changed. Now the people who are committing usury are not the gangsters on street corners all over America. Their place has been taken by the CEOs of Wall Street financial institutions who are lending out money to desperate Americans at 25 or 30 percent interest rates. That, my friends, is called usury, and according to every religion on Earth, that is immoral. What you are doing is going up to people who are desperate, people who are hurting, and you are saying: You desperately need money, we are going to give you money, but there is a string attached. You are going to be charged an outrageous amount of interest on that money.

So here is the irony: The people who are hurting the most pay the highest interest rates. The people who need the money the least are paying the lowest interest rates.

So the Fed lent out billions and billions of dollars to the largest financial institutions and offered it at less than 1 percent. That is American taxpayer money–large corporations, less than 1 percent.

But if you are a worker today and you are having hard times–maybe you are unemployed–you are going to pay 25 or 30 percent interest rates on your credit card, and sometimes more. You have this Payday Lending where people are paying outrageous sums of money. I think that is immoral. I think we have to stop it, and it disturbs me very much that especially at a time when we bailed out these large financial institutions they are still able to charge our people 25 or 30 percent. People who have bailed them out get hit the second time around by having to pay 25 to 30 percent interest rates.

Right now, it is not even 25 or 30 percent. As a matter of fact, the tenth largest credit card issuer in this country, an entity called Premier Bank, is now offering a credit card with a 79.9-percent interest rate and a $300 credit limit. What do we make of that? The tenth largest credit card issuer in this country is charging 79 percent interest rates, and we allow that to go on. These are crooks. These are no different than the gangsters who beat up people on street corners when they didn’t get payment back, except now the gangsters are wearing three-piece suits and sitting in some fancy suite on Wall Street.

Barack Obama doesn’t talk like this. He doesn’t want to offend the loan sharks!

There’s a petition out there calling on Bernie Sanders to run for President. It’s stuffed to the gills. There are people asking for donations right now for a Draft Bernie Sanders for President campaign.

Show your support for the Sanders agenda — for the agenda of the people who don’t have to worry what they’re going to name their next yacht.
