Newt Gingrich? The politician who was run out of the House of Representatives in shame back in the 1990s? They guy who blasted Bill Clinton for lying about cheating on his wife, while he himself was lying about cheating on his wife?

Some people in South Carolina seemed to want to vote for Newt Gingrich because Gingrich has the ability to be visibly angry during a political debate. Let’s get some perspective, though. This is a presidential election, not a boxing match.

The last thing we need in an American President is anger. Newt Gingrich has a nasty habit of flying off the handle. Is that really the kind of person we want to be in charge of America’s nuclear missiles?

It’s time to step forward and cut out the Gingrich cancer in our culture before it spreads too far. Florida is the next presidential primary election state, and this bumper sticker is for voters there – get together with Florida Against Newt Gingrich – and stop Gingrich before it’s too late!

In the midst of this economic difficulty, Newt Gingrich comes along and tells Indiana that its teenagers should have to work extra evening shifts in the public schools as janitors in order to keep their schools up and running. Gingrich wants working families to be the ones making more of a sacrifice, when the top 1 percent has more than enough to keep the system running.

Using Indiana’s kids to help balance the accounts of corporations that have outsourced jobs away is a step too far. Indiana voters won’t stand for it, and that’s why, in the 2012 presidential contest, Indiana is against Newt Gingrich.

Another Georgia voter wrote, “Rick Perry is just another Bush…..he’s working on getting big $$$ from the bailed out banks.” Yet another said, “Rick Perry is an idiot and so are the Georgians who support him.”

The combination of the strength of support for Rick Perry among Republicans in Georgia and the strength of opposition to Rick Perry among Georgia voters in general points to a struggle over the political identity of Georgia. There are many who are seeking to bring Georgia forward into a future that embraces the rich culture and knowledge of the world, but there are others who are struggling to avoid any advance for Georgia, trying to keep Georgia tied to a brutal and ugly past.

As a result, a large number of Georgia voters are appalled by Rick Perry’s extremist politics. However, Rick Perry also has a strong following among zealous right wing Republicans in Georgia.

Show where you stand in this struggle. Put this bumper sticker on your car to show that many Georgia voters are opposed to Rick Perry – despite what the loudest portion of the Georgia Republican Party wants outsiders to believe.

Our governor continues to amaze us with the vastness of his incompetence as chief executive.

He crudely undercut his marine resources commissioner by going behind his back to make deals with the fishing industry and punish perceived enemies in Portland.

His handpicked press secretary had to resign because of foreclosure problems. His environmental commissioner had to resign because of a serious conflict of interest but stayed around to lead another department.

His budget director overlooked an illegal sale of state property.

Without batting an eyelash, Republicans nearly passed a bill allowing weapons in the State House even after a first-term Republican almost shot a news photographer in Augusta. Meanwhile, the majority party passed new gun laws to allow employees to bring concealed weapons to work and public citizens to hide guns while visiting state parks.

LePage signed onto a prayer day proclamation sponsored by Texas Gov. Rick Perry without understanding its transparent political intent. Apparently, our governor didn’t pay attention in history class. This day of prayer is Aug. 6, the day we “Christians” bombed Hiroshima in 1945 killing almost 200,000 fellow human beings.

This is a governor who supposedly cares about “the people.” Which people? He refused to sign LD 860 that would have funded a low-income children’s summer free lunch program, but passed tax laws that primarily favor those making over $120,000 and penalized teachers and retirees for the state’s negligence of the pension system.

Anyone still want the tea party to run the state?

That letter sums up how many of us feel about Paul LePage. L’Idiot! Let’s not let it happen again.
