Liberal Democrats can vote for Darcy Richardson. Darcy Richardson is a progressive Democrat, running for President as an alternative to Barack Obama. He's on the ballot for the Democratic primary in several states.

You’re a Democrat, and loyal to the Democratic Party. You’re also a liberal, though, and you’ve watched with increasing dismay as Barack Obama has demonstrated that he’s no liberal. Obama has helped the Republicans promote an anti-liberal agenda, turning his backs on the voters of 2008.

So, what can you do? Maybe you don’t want to vote for Rocky Anderson of the Justice Party. Maybe you can’t bring yourself to vote for Jill Stein of the Green Party. You’re a Democrat, after all.

So, vote for Darcy Richardson. Darcy Richardson is a progressive Democrat, running for President as an alternative to Barack Obama. He’s on the ballot for the Democratic primary in several states.

See what Darcy Richardson stands for. Then, put this Darcy Richardson bumper sticker on your car. Tell your friends about the Richardson for President campaign. Then, most importantly, vote for Richardson!

Rocky Anderson can be the liberal presidential candidate for 2012, but in the long term, liberals need to put their weight behind the development of the Justice Party as a progressive alternative to the pro-war, pro-corporate Democrats.

Rocky Anderson is the kind of presidential candidate that American liberals have been dreaming of for years. He’s been consistently anti-war. He support the Occupy Wall Street movement. He recognizes the legal right of gays and lesbians for marriage equality. He’s campaigned against the influence of corporations in American politics. He’s worked as a leader in the human rights movement. Rocky Anderson was the only mayor of a major U.S. city to join in protests demanding the impeachment of George W. Bush.

The Rocky Anderson for President campaign deserves the support of liberal Americans. However, the campaign is not, and can not be, just about support for Rocky Anderson as an individual.

Today. Rocky Anderson is launching the Justice Party, a political party that will promote his liberal ideals. Rocky Anderson can be the liberal presidential candidate for 2012, but in the long term, liberals need to put their weight behind the development of the Justice Party as a progressive alternative to the pro-war, pro-corporate Democrats.

That’s where this Justice Party bumper sticker comes in. You can help spread the word about the Justice Party everywhere you drive, simply by putting a Justice Party bumper sticker on your car. It features the internationally recognized symbol of justice – with justice personified as an elegant woman, wearing a blindfold to maintain an unbiased perspective, carrying the scales of justice in one hand, and a sword in the other.

The same basic design is also found on Justice Party political buttons sold by Irregular Times.

There are a lot of sincerely organized parties that offer distinctive policies that you might or might not agree with, from the Libertarian Party to the Green Party. But before we switch to any old third party, we ought to consider whether that party would be an improvement on the old ones.

Consider Americans Elect, a political party that is working to gain 50-state access right now for the 2012 presidential election. Americans Elect says it wants to give the people a voice. Unfortunately, there are indications in its bylaws that citizens’ rights will be curtailed and made subordinate to the whims of a corporate Board of Directors. The hedge fund and private wealth management affiliations of the Americans Elect Board of Advisors does not engender confidence either. Can we learn more about who’s behind Americans Elect? Unfortunately not: Americans Elect refuses to share the identity of the people who are funding it.

Sometimes a third party is worse than the first two. Perhaps the best solution is no party at all.

It’s a point that can’t be emphasized enough: The Tea Party of today is nothing like the Boston Tea Party of America’s revolutionary days. First of all, there’s no real revolution in the Tea Party protesters of today. They’re not looking to build anything new to support progress in our nation: They’re just looking, greedy, to hold on to the stuff they’ve got because they don’t want to share.

In order to justify their opposition to social programs that help their neighbors, the Tea Party activists come up with elaborate conspiracy theories about Muslims from Kenya and Communist plots to enslave us all by keeping Americans healthy.

Congressman Charlie Melancon has been running a slick little game for a while, trying to get the best of both worlds. He’s registered as a Democrat, but acted like a Republican. He figures he can take Democratic votes for granted, and take a big chunk of Republican votes too.

It’s the Blue Dog Democrat strategy to a T – and it’s enabled Melancon to rise to the top of the right wing Blue Dog Coalition in the House of Representatives. The Blue Dog Democrats are like Melancon – voting like Republicans in Congress, but registered as Democrats for electoral advantage. Melancon has become the co-chair of the Blue Dogs, leading the charge as the Blue Dogs rip apart progressive Democratic legislation.

Charles Melancon thinks that kind of political two-timing has earned him a promotion, so this year, Melancon is campaigning to become Louisiana’s newest United States Senator. The bumper sticker you see here speaks to Melancon’s bid, reading, Melancon is too much like a Republican to get this Democrat’s vote.

No, it’s not a mangy old bumper sticker. It’s a new bumper sticker, about mangy old Blue Dog Democrats in Congress.

This year, once again, Democratic voters are being asked to plug their noses, never mind the stench of betrayal, and give their support to members the right wing Blue Dog Coalition. Those Blue Dogs are Democrats, but they vote with the Republicans, wrecking Democratic Party attempts to to pass progressive legislation on issues like health care and climate change, over and over again.

Democratic voters have been asking themselves: What’s the point of having a Democratic majority in Congress, when it’s made up of creeps like the Blue Dogs? This year, the discontent is out in the open, with bumper stickers like this one, declaring, I’ll never give my vote to a mangy old Blue Dog – featuring a graphic of a blue dog, slinking away.

Over at the Irregular States collection of state-focused progressive campaign gear, they called it right on Congressman Parker Griffith. Weeks ago, they released a new political campaign button with the text: If Parker Griffith is a Democrat, I’m a Barn Owl!

Now it’s sure, they’re no barn owls over at Irregular States. They’re right on the money. Today, Representative Griffith announced that he’s switching political party constituencies from Democrat to Republican.

Don’t expect to see a change in Griffith’s voting record, though. Griffith was already voting like he was a Republican. He was a Blue Dog Democrat, a Democrat who supports a right wing agenda pretty much like that of the Republican Party.

This afternoon, Irregular States has posted a new button design: Alabama Voters Unite Against Parker Griffith. Democrats have learned that Congressman Griffith can’t keep his word. Republican can see that Griffith might switch allegiances again next year. Whatever his political party of the moment, Parker Griffith holds to an extremist agenda that’s just plain out of touch with the needs of the day.
