Newt Gingrich? The politician who was run out of the House of Representatives in shame back in the 1990s? They guy who blasted Bill Clinton for lying about cheating on his wife, while he himself was lying about cheating on his wife?

Some people in South Carolina seemed to want to vote for Newt Gingrich because Gingrich has the ability to be visibly angry during a political debate. Let’s get some perspective, though. This is a presidential election, not a boxing match.

The last thing we need in an American President is anger. Newt Gingrich has a nasty habit of flying off the handle. Is that really the kind of person we want to be in charge of America’s nuclear missiles?

It’s time to step forward and cut out the Gingrich cancer in our culture before it spreads too far. Florida is the next presidential primary election state, and this bumper sticker is for voters there – get together with Florida Against Newt Gingrich – and stop Gingrich before it’s too late!

Sure, government cannot protect us from ourselves… but that’s not their job. Their job is to protect us from those people, corporations, and substances, including food, water and air – that might be harmful to us and our children. It’s up to us to make our government what we want it to be, not to get rid of all of the safety nets that are there to serve the people. If Ron Paul had his way there would be no more public schools, no Social Security, no public housing for the poor, no Environmental Protection Agency, no Health and Human Services, no protection for Labor, no Civil Rights … the list goes on and on. The worst thing that Ron Paul is against is regulation, including the market. Isn’t that what caused this mess to begin with?”

It comes down to this: There are real liberal alternatives to Barack Obama. Look at Jill Stein. Consider Rocky Anderson. If you want a Democrat, there’s Darcy Richardson.

There is absolutely no reason that a liberal has to make the significant compromises of principles inherent in voting for Ron Paul. Come to your senses, progressives! Join liberals against Ron Paul!

So, why would you vote for Stephen Colbert? Well, for one thing, Colbert has a better routine.

Colbert has a 30 minute production every weeknight, with new material every time. The other Republican presidential candidates have only one or two stump speeches that they repeat over and over again, no matter where they go.

For the sake of mere entertainment, Republicans should vote for Stephen Colbert for President – and show their support with a Stephen Colbert for President 2012 bumper sticker.

So, what can you do? Maybe you don’t want to vote for Rocky Anderson of the Justice Party. Maybe you can’t bring yourself to vote for Jill Stein of the Green Party. You’re a Democrat, after all.

Using Indiana’s kids to help balance the accounts of corporations that have outsourced jobs away is a step too far. Indiana voters won’t stand for it, and that’s why, in the 2012 presidential contest, Indiana is against Newt Gingrich.
