But let’s not forget that fellow contender Mitt Romney is just as extreme as Rick Santorum on the subject. During the 2008 presidential campaign season, Mitt Romney went out of his way to lecture John McCain on the subject of torture, then told the audience that he’d like to see more people subjected to water torture by the U.S. government.

Do you want someone with that kind of loose moral code to get his grip on the reins of power? I know I don’t. Those of us who say no to torture must also say no to Mitt Romney.

The more you look around, the more communities you’ll find that have been disrespected by John McCain and Sarah Palin. Skateboarders, for example.

While she was mayor of the village of Wasilla, Alaska, Sarah Palin instituted a new law that outlawed the use of skateboards, in-line skates, scooters, and even bicycles in certain areas. Palin also declared that fines would be imposed against offending skaters and bicyclists, and their skates and bikes would be confiscated. (Source: Frontiersman, September 18, 1998)

In these days when big cars and trucks are burning up the planet with their gas guzzling engines, we ought to be encouraging people to find alternative forms of transportation – not punishing them. Sarah Palin and John McCain don’t understand that.

That’s why
Skaters are against McCain-Palin 2008.

Oh dear. In a response to the 2006 Eagle Forum Questionnaire, Sarah Palin revealed the depth of her knowledge regarding the Pledge of Allegiance:

Question: Are you offended by the phrase “Under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance? Why or why not?

Sarah Palin: Not on your life. If it was good enough for the founding fathers, its good enough for me and I’ll fight in defense of our Pledge of Allegiance.

How plucky! The problem is, the founding fathers didn’t write the Pledge of Allegiance, and they certainly didn’t incorporate “Under God” in the U.S. Constitution. In fact, they kept any references to the divine out of the Constitution! Is this who you want to be one creaky heartbeat away from the presidency?

Prevent Truth Decay. Reject McCain-Palin in 2008.

She made clear in no uncertain terms the many ways in which John McCain stands in opposition to progress in the United States of America. Her most memorable line: No Way, No How, No McCain!” will be perhaps the most memorable bumper sticker statement of the 2008 Elections. So it makes sense that there would be an actual No Way, No How, No McCain bumper sticker. And here it is.

Over at Democrats.org, they’ve put together a sweet little website, Exxon-McCain 2008, a parody site that reveals the connections between John McCain and the oil industry. Did you know, for instance, that John McCain has put together a little $4 Billion legislative gift to the oil companies while he runs around telling the rest of us little people that he can’t afford to do anything that would help us out of this energy crisis? For shame, John McCain!

It isn't just because John McCain is old. A person can be old and still remain relevant and be able to contribute meaningfully. It has to do with John McCain's place in time. John McCain has failed to update his ideas.

I want to try to put this in a nice way, but it’s a hard thing to tell someone that their time is over. The Age of John McCain is over. John McCain’s political career is finished. The time for John McCain to be elected to anything is done.

I’ll put this in another way: John McCain is history.

It isn’t just because John McCain is old. A person can be old and still remain relevant and be able to contribute meaningfully.

It has to do with John McCain’s place in time. John McCain has failed to update his ideas.

John McCain is a politician of the past. McCain embraces ideas and attitudes that are two generations out of date.

John McCain has no vision for the future of America. His agenda is one of defense, trying to delay progress, to fend off hope, to desperately cling to the old ways of thinking that he and his supporters are fond of.

John McCain is a relic of time gone by, of plans that didn’t work out, of limitations that most Americans have transcended.

The way of John McCain is the way of the failures of America’s past.

John McCain is history. Now is the time for America to do better than it has done. Now is the time for a candidate of the future. Now is the time for Barack Obama.
